อำเภอ (Amphur / Amphoe) คือหน่วยงานราชการที่จดทะเบียนสถานะบุคคลในประเทศไทย การสมรสและ สัญญาก่อนสมรส ต้องจดทะเบียนที่อำเภอจึงจะมีผลตามกฎหมายและการ หย่าโดยความยินยอม จะจดทะเบียนที่อำเภอตาม ข้อตกลงการหย่า ที่คู่สมรสทำเป็นหนังสือ

Amphur (Amphoe) is the Thai District Office responsible for civil status registration. Thai marriages and prenuptial agreements are legally effective only when registered at the Amphur, and a mutual-consent divorce is also recorded there based on a written Divorce Agreement.
