Under Thai law the legal dissolution of a marriage by a court (section 1516 Civil Code) or agreed (mutual consent) and applied in person by both spouses before the competent government body (Amphur) and registered in the Marriage Register (section 1514 Civil Code).

A do-it-yourself uncontested divorce in Thailand is completed at the District Office (Amphur/Amphoe) when both spouses agree to end the marriage. You’ll sign Form B (the application) at the counter, the registrar will prepare Kor Ror 6 (the divorce register), and you usually receive Kor Ror 7 (the Divorce Certificate) the same day. Bring IDs, marriage papers, and a clear Thai–English Divorce Agreement so key terms (property, custody, support) can be recorded properly. No court hearing is required for a mutual-consent divorce, but both spouses must attend in person and sign in front of two witnesses.
